Make January Your Success Month!
POSITIVE QUOTE OF THE DAY :
I think the purpose of life is to be useful, to be responsible, to be
honorable, to be compassionate. It is, after all, to matter: to
count, to stand for something, to have made some difference that you
lived at all. — Leo C. Rosten (1908-1977) American Writer
Ever have trouble sleeping? Rather, just before you go to sleep do you ever have a worry hit you? Not like the nights when you just fall asleep and rest like a baby, but the nights when you’re just about asleep and the worry demons creep up on you and suddenly you are wide awake and full on unrest and fear.
How about the mornings when in the moment just before you awaken, a thought, a fret, a fear, a nagging thought jumps in and wakes you up in a horrible state of panic and turmoil. I bet a lot of you are saying, “No, not me” and others are saying “No way (would I admit it)” It’s OK. You don’t have to tell all, but I would like to give you some success advice.
If we can just control our thoughts, we can control our lives. If we can just focus our mental powers, we could conquer the world. Well, that sounds great, but how do you do it?
Upon sleeping, go to bed without anger and strife. Lie down and release the world and its worries. Those next few hours are yours, and yours alone so claim them and enjoy these moments in peace. Plan your awakening. How will you awaken? When and under what circumstances? How do you need to plan the morning so you own the day?
This is what I am doing for my January Success Month. Upon sleeping, I surround myself with light and life. I am thankful for my blessings and accept that I can let go for a while and rest my mind and body. I think that allowing ourselves to rest is sometimes the hardest thing to do. We have so much stuff “to do” that we just can’t let it go and then start again tomorrow. We stay up so late accomplishing tasks that we can’t get up the next day, and when we do we are exhausted.
Upon awakening, this is the challenge. Take a moment and fill your mind with healing and pleasant thoughts. Relax for just a moment, or set a second alarm so you can close your eyes for a moment of meditation and reflection. For a while I got into a habit of looking at my emails and the news first thing, and it was ruining my mornings. By the time I had read all my FB posts, I was in a “work” mode and I had lost my moment of peace.
For my January Success Month, I still pick up my Smartphone, but I am first saying my prayer list (yet, it’s on my phone), then I recite my faith statement, then read my inspirational words of life. Facebook can just wait awhile, and CNN will still have the news a bit later, the morning is for ME! This is a wonderful way of taking back MY morning and having the opportunity to set up my day in peace and focus on good thoughts. Then, refreshed and empowered, go out and conquer the world!
Let’s chat a bit more next about how to have a Successful January. Enjoy your rest and sleep with the angels!
Thank You!
