A New Beginning!
Wow, what a ride. My last blog was four weeks ago on Friday the 13th from the Woodland Hills Arthur Murray Dance Studio. Now, I am sitting in the front office of Vision, looking out on Broadway in the heart of Santa Monica, CA. Our studio is almost ready to open!
This is a dream come true. We live, worship, and work within a mile of each other and our 60 minute commute in now a wonderful 5 minutes. We drive home and say, “Oh, the drive is killing me”….then we have a great laugh. This is well-earned after 20+ years of driving to and from The Valley!
Every day I drive by St. Monica Parish, then to the new studio, and the same on the way home. My heart stays focused and full of faith and gratitude.
Well, on to the dancing. The ballroom is now full of workmen laying the floor. It’s beautiful! The studio is painted and the build out is finished tomorrow. All this in just four weeks, but it has been a FULL four weeks.
I just stood on the first of the floor boards and they feel great. A nice cushion to make the floor float and make the dancing easy on our legs and backs. The color is beautiful as well.
The front and back of our studio is glass. Our school is full of light and energy all day. And at night, we are a beacon of light to everyone who is watching us build, grow, and dance in our new studio.
What’s in this for YOU? Well, we are now in the heart of Santa Monica, 928 Broadway between 9th and 10th. The new Light Rail is coming in ½ mile south of us. You will be able to walk to a train to take you to Union Station and anywhere you want to go. We are close to the Lincoln Exit of the 10 Freeway. We are close to the Santa Monica Pier, the Pacific Ocean, Santa Monica Place anchored by Nordstrom and Bloomingdales. Also, we are very close to Third Street Promenade, L.A.’s Destination Spot for shopping, dining, movies, and just walking on a perfect night.
Did I say we have parking underneath our building? Our immediate neighbors are Funnel Mill
Gourmet Coffee, Shabu dining, a cleaners, a tailor, an elite bicycle store, a Karate school, and an upscale salon. We even have a dentist in the building!
Our goal is to bring the name of Arthur Murray Dance to Santa Monica and share the experience of world class dance instruction. Our school is full of music and great fun energy. Our motto is to give the best in service and change lives through dancing the Arthur Murray Way!
