Changing Lives through Dancing by David Woodbury

Every great advancement, whether for ourselves or for others, has come from many efforts and realizing our dreams.
I often thing about Thomas Edison and his invention of the light bulb. He tried over 10,000 different materials for the perfect filament to make the light glow. Once, as he was trying yet another material for the bulb, someone asked him if he was discouraged having so many failures.
His reply was, “I realized that eventually, I would run out of things that did not work”. What an amazing mind and what a fantastic invention that forever changed the way we live and work.
It is true that dreams must first come from attempts. A dream is only a thought, an idea, until it is combined with passion and action. I have a lot of dreams in my life. I’m either doing them, preparing for them, or I have them written down and I plan to fulfill them in the near future.
What if you don’t have a dream? What do you do then? Well, have dreams for others and help them fulfill those dreams. You may say, I’m living my dream and I’m where I want to be. Great. Then help others to realize and find their dreams and help them through the attempts, and failures and successes that they must go through. If you’re where you want to be, you have a lot of wisdom and experience. Give that knowledge away to others.
What if you are currently experiencing your “great advancement” and you are making many attempts to realize your full potential. I can tell you this, you need a friend, an encourager, a mentor, a guide, a leader, a comforter, a visionary, a dream maker in your life. You’re up to your eyeballs in a busy life, challenges, and discouragements and you cannot see how much progress you are making and how well you are doing.
This is where a good friend comes in handy. Someone to tell you you’re great. Tells you that you are going to make it and realize your dreams. Someone who will listen to you, cry with you, laugh with you. Someone who is there for you. Yes, these friends exist and all you must do is ask them for some help, and then let them give that help to you.
Trust me, I’m always on the lookout for someone who needs a little encouragement. I’m listening and waiting for you to ask…and I’m prepared to offer help as well. I always jump at the chance to help someone out!
Be patient for the results you wish to see. Your great advancement may come in a still small voice that may sneak up on you. You might even be in the middle of your success and not know it.
Take a moment of silence in your life each. In your favorite safe place, find a quiet time and let your mind rest. Unclench your jaw, relax your hands and let your whole-body release and then gently breathe. Do this for at least 15 minutes. At the end you will be refreshed, and the eyes of your heart will be opened to hear the answers need for the day. Try it. I do it daily and it saves me!
Make this a daily effort and you will love the benefits you receive from this!
