International Dance Festival 2014
I don’t think anything is unrealistic if you believe you can do it. I
think if you are determined enough and willing to pay the price, you
can get it done.
— Mike Ditka (1939-) American, Football Coach, Chicago Bears
Arthur Murray Dance Centers globally are now in a six week activity contest called “International Dance Festival”. Wow, what an exciting time for all the Arthur Murray Schools. We have our Guest Open Houses, Graduation Ball, Spring Luncheon, Themes for the Festival and Festival Themed Parties. Our students, staff, and studio earn points from all of our activities.
We have our Magnificent 7 Goal for all our students: 1. Bring a Guest 2. Become a Sponsor 3. Enroll on Lessons 4. Take Groups and Parties 5. Be on a Party Committee 6. Take an Exchange Lesson and 7. Sign up for an event. The students who complete all these areas win a night out with the staff!
The studio has an extra excitement during Festival. We have the most Guests coming in at this time, many exciting events to participate and look forward to, and we are preparing for our upcoming Dance-O-Rama in Irvine, CA, Unique DOR, Summer Showcase and Super Match Comp.
Some of you may say, Hey, I don’t know what this is all about. Well, come into the Santa Monica Arthur Murray Dance Center and find out how you may become involved and have your life changed through dancing.
Are you sitting while reading this? Have you moved enough today? How is your blood pressure and weight? Are you happy and in good shape? Come in for a dance session and see what happens to your stamina, your breathing, your weight, and your happiness. You’ll laugh and love being on the dance floor moving to the music with a partner in your arms.
Yes, we may live in a “connected” world of “WiFi”, yet Arthur Murray will never be outdated with the pure fun, joy, and excitement of dancing with a partner. You’ll be happy and your self-confidence will soar through the roof! I recently saw someone yawn during a public dance, and my heart sank! Get on the floor and dance and fill your lungs with air and your heart with laughter!
Let’s put down our iPhones and Smartphones and instead, ask a partner to dance and let our “connection” be the lead and follow between two people dancing together. What will the young babies of today have for technology in the future? I don’t know, but I think they will crave real human connection and partnership that Arthur Murray Dancing so beautifully gives.
Am I a techno geek, well, yes I am. But more importantly, I love to dance with a partner, perform a dance with a partner, and inspire others through my dancing.
Take a walk down Broadway and come inside. Our studio beckons you to come in, dance, laugh, smile, and truly, “Change your life…one step at a time”.
Happy Dancing!
Thank You,
David Earl Woodbury
Next Week: Time for a “Re-Set” in your life!
