“Put a Little Step in your Spring”

(Or is that a little Spring into your Step?)

Changing Lives through Dancing by David Woodbury

March 19 was the first day of Spring.  A time of renewal and rebirth, and warmer, longer days. This is my favorite season as I love seeing the trees budding, the flowers growing and the birds singing. The weather warms up and we are drawn to the outdoors.

On the dance floor, we also have a Springtime. It’s a time when we renew our dancing and brush off the cobwebs and gain new insights into our dances and our steps. Spring is a wonderful time to begin your dancing if you are new to the dance floor. Newcomers begin with learning some of the basic dances of Salsa, Swing, Ballroom, Tango, plus many more. The goal is to have a sequence of steps that you master for every dance.

For the intermediate dancer, this is a time of strengthening your favorite dances, Bolero, Viennese Waltz, Merengue, West Coast Swing, Samba, 2-Step, and firming up all your repertoire of all your favorite social dances.

Advance dancers will be planning their dance competitions and shows for the year and they are learning perfection through practice, performance and exhibitions.

All our wedding couples are preparing for their June weddings, although July, September and December are also now busy wedding months! We had couples start their dance lessons in 2023 for their weddings 2024! Couples just want to dance together, and they want time away from any type of blue screens. It’s time for partnership and connection.

So, what’s in store for your Springtime? Will you be dancing? If you’re new, call and set up a dance lesson. If you are rusty, brush up on your dancing skills. And if you’re a seasoned dancer, keep on dancing! As one season flows into another, your dancing will stay with you for the rest of your life! “Put a little fun in your life, try dancing!”

Thanks for reading.
