Changing Lives through Dancing by David Woodbury

“Every day is a new day. Look at it with fresh eyes!“
How can we make each day’s mornings magical? There have been times when my mornings were miserable and dark and full of dread. Those were not happy times for me.
What do I do every morning? When I first wake up, really wake up to the new day, I cover my eyes and pray the Shema. Then, I have a great spiritual and mental start to my day. I have focused my thoughts and have a good start on the next positive mindset.
Then, I say my morning prayers. I’m fill with joy as I remember those that I love, miss, and who are in need. I now feel strong and focused.
Then, before by mobile phone’s messages and new feeds, I do all my spiritual readings and meditations. I use my phone for many audible inspirations that I listen to daily and strongly avoid my newsfeed and emails until I’m in a good place. I follow this with more readings and my mind is full of light, hope and love.
How do we bring excitement into our days? I do not like feeling unprepared. I check my schedule for the day and make sure that I’m on track. This gives me peace of mind and I’m ready for the day ahead. You might say, I schedule my excitement and stick to my plan. I’m a great fan of reminders and I seldom forget an appointment or event.
We cannot change the past, but we can live in the now. Regrets, yes, I’ve had a few. Do some of them haunt me, yes, sometimes. I must keep my thoughts of light ahead of the dark thoughts that are always lingering and wanting to get into my mind.
We can progress from where we are today in our lives. When I have regrets, I realize that today is a new day, yesterday has passed and I’m in a whole new world of opportunity. I can start fresh, at least in my thoughts and attitude.
How long have I had these daily habits? For many years now. How do I sustain them and not lose my good habits? I daily see the benefits of seizing my days and I see the daily results in every area of my life from walking in light.
After you seized you day, how do you know that someone your chatting with is smiling? Easily, you’ll see the reflection of your smile in their faces as they are smiling back at you!
This is how I know that seizing the day is a good way of life. I see those around me reacting to my good attitude and hopefully they see me practicing my own preaching and living each day as a best day.
The beginning of this blog I spoke of coving my eyes while praying the Shema. When I open my eyes, I feel the joy of the moment and I even feel the joy that I have a fresh start, a fresh moment, and whole new beginning if I just want it and reach out for it.
By the way, I’m a practicing Catholic, yet I always pray the Shema the very first thing daily, and the very last part of my conscience day.
No matter what method you use, may I truly encourage you to seize and grasp each new and hold onto it until the next morning? Then repeat this every day!
Thank you for reading and Keep on Dancing!
