Changing Lives through Dancing by David Woodbury

“The Magic of Dancing”
When you step onto the dance floor, and your partner holds you, and the music begins, there is truly magic in the air! The connection with your partner, with the sounds of the music, the dance, the steps, the other dancers on the floor, the audience, it is all mystical, fun, and life changing.
I never get tired of talking about the Magic of Dance. The dancing somehow makes you feel young and happy again. It is a good healer for what ails you. If you have suffered a loss, or you have a new, or long-time illness. If you have had surgery and you are not feeling well. Dancing is good for you. Perhaps you just can’t shake what happened to you during the pandemic and you are at a loss of what to do now. Try dancing!
Dancing can be done by all ages and all levels of ability. If you can walk in, you can dance out. I never get tired from teaching the basics to new people. Their genuine joy, enthusiasm, their laughter and smiles, their strengthened self-confidence. Their glee at learning a new dance or a new step that they never imagined they could master.
The joy of the new dancers sustains me. For the social dancer, there is a wonderful level of confidence in knowing how to ask a partner to dance. Knowing how to dance to the style of the music and how to dance effortlessly with a partner. The advanced dancers know the thrill of memorizing a series of patterns and performing the dance in front of a room full of spectators. They know the challenge of dancing at the highest levels and performing a dance routine in front of others.
In today’s world, we could all use a little of the Magic of Dance. We could all benefit from feeling great from the inside out. The smiles that come upon our faces as we dance help us stay young and joyful. Learning all the new dance steps and the step combinations keeps our minds fresh, health, and happy.
Dancing is fun and is easy to learn. If you walked in the front door, we guarantee you’ll dance out the front door. Hang on to your dreams. Knock on the door. Ask and it will be given. Polish up your dreams, bring them to the front light of your eyes and try taking a few dance steps on the dance floor.
After 47 years of teaching and learning dance, I am still so amazed by the magic I feel while dancing. Call your closest Arthur Murray Dance Studio and go in and dance! You’ll be glad you did!
Thank you for reading, Keep on Dancing, It will get better,
