“We are the Light that Changes the World”

Changing Lives through Dancing by David Woodbury

Sometimes, we are the only light that others see in their day. We may be the only source of positivity and happiness that someone else may encounter in their week.

This is an awesome responsibility because with our laughter and happy outlook on life, there may be a person who is seeing us as their own role model. We may not know it, but others will see our smiles, hear our laughter and copy us and imitate us. Our attitude an easily be “caught” by others.

We are always showing the light in our lives and we are always changing the world by letting that joy and light shine through us.

When we share our positive outlook on life, our listening to others, our positive frame of mind, and our acceptance of others, we bring light to all around us.

What is the result for us and light-givers? The light we shine to others is reflected right back onto us! Our own quality of life improves, and our own quality of life improves.

In Ballroom Dancing, many have had their own dancing transformed by seeing a champion couple dance. To see them dance, live and feel their performance is magical.

The best couples know that they have power over their audience and the fully open their light, love, talent, and partnership to all who are watching.

I remember once watching the World Latin Champions, Kirsten and Espen Salberg of Norway, dance live in a major competition for their honor dance. It was a Rumba. As they began to dance, a hush came over the entire ballroom. Their steps were simple, clean, and pure. As we watched, we began to cry. The ballroom began to cry, then cheer and applaud all at the same time.

They opened their hearts right in front of us and their light changed all of us who were watching. I’ll never forget that moment. The standing ovation and cheering at the finish were equal to a World Soccer Match Win! Even today, my eyes get misty remembering how wonderful they were.

My challenge to you the reader, and to me is this. When we live, live our best life for all to see. Who knows how many lives we may affect? Sometimes we truly are the lamps that will shine to others. Let go, let your light shine and be the inspiration for the world to see!

Thank you for reading and Keep on Dancing!
